“We Need to Impeach Bush as a Civics Lesson” Says RFK Jr.

RFK Jr. in Charleston, WV, July 18, 2007

“It’s important to impeach Bush as a civics lesson — to say to the American people that America doesn’t torture people. We do not intercept the telephone conversations of hundreds of thousands of American citizens illegally.

You can’t just tear up the Bill of Rights.

He has to be impeached. The American people have to remember how sacred the Constitution of the United States is.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wants to send a message

Author lists mountaintop removal among ‘Crimes Against Nature’

By Ken Ward Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. flew over the West Virginia coalfields this week to get a better view of mountaintop removal mines.

Kennedy lunched with West Virginia Coal Association President Bill Raney, and listened to coalfield residents during a staged town meeting at a Raleigh County church.

The three-day tour was all part of Kennedy’s effort to get a wider audience to hear his message about the “Crimes Against Nature” — the title of his 2004 book — that he says companies commit and governments ignore.

Filmmaker Angus Yates and writer Clara Bingham are turning Kennedy’s book into a movie, a move that has drawn comparisons to the Oscar-winning documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” about Al Gore’s famous global warming slide show. And as it did in the book, mountaintop removal in West Virginia is expected to be among Kennedy’s examples of environmental outrages. Parts of the film, for example, will focus on the battle over a huge coal processing plant and waste impoundment near Marsh Fork Elementary School near Sundial.

“It’s more than a sound bite,” Kennedy said during an interview Wednesday in Charleston. “It’s the destruction of a resource.”

Kennedy had seen mountaintop removal from the air before. After a May 2002 flight, he recounted the view in his book as “a sight that would sicken most Americans.” After this week’s flyover, Kennedy said the damage had only gotten worse.

“Even if they stop today, they’ve done so much damage,” Kennedy said, his voice trailing off. “This is the worst stuff  I’ve seen anywhere.”

Kennedy is an environmental lawyer and the son of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and a nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy. Even before his book was published, Kennedy was speaking out about mountaintop removal. During an October 2001 speech at the University of Charleston, he called the practice “the worst example of what human beings can do to their environment when they behave irresponsibly.”

And in Kennedy’s view, it is pollution — not environmental regulations that restrict pollution — that amounts to a legal “taking” or a crime against society. “If you pollute a creek and a child gets sick, that’s child abuse,” Kennedy said. “If you pollute air and a child has an asthma attack, that’s assault and battery.”

Above all, Kennedy says that blowing up mountains and burying streams is taking precious resources that rightly belong to the public and to future generations. “They are stealing historic landscapes,” Kennedy said. “They are stealing an entire state.”

And like Gore, Kennedy also connects environmental problems to large issues in society. He favors campaign finance reform, thinks newspapers and other media need to do more investigative reporting, and wants to impeach President Bush.

“It’s important to impeach Bush as a civics lesson — to say to the American people that America doesn’t torture people,” Kennedy said. “We do not intercept the telephone conversations of hundreds of thousands of American citizens illegally.

“You can’t just tear up the Bill of Rights,” he said. “He has to be impeached. The American people have to remember how sacred the Constitution of the United States is.”

I love what he says here:

“You can’t just tear up the Bill of Rights,” he said. “He has to be impeached. The American people have to remember how sacred the Constitution of the United States is.”

Wow, how refreshing! Obviously Bobby hasn’t forgotten how sacred the Constitution is.

We need to DEMAND candidates who believe this and are willing to take a firm stand for the Bill of rights.

Looks like it’s got to be you, Bobby Kennedy. RUN!!!!

THE KENNEBUNKPORT WARNING

To the American people, and to peace loving individuals everywhere:

Massive evidence has come to our attention which shows that the backers, controllers, and allies of Vice President Dick Cheney are determined to orchestrate and manufacture a new 9/11 terror incident, and/or a new Gulf of Tonkin war provocation over the coming weeks and months. Such events would be used by the Bush administration as a pretext for launching an aggressive war against Iran, quite possibly with nuclear weapons, and for imposing a regime of martial law here in the United States. We call on the House of Representatives to proceed immediately to the impeachment of Cheney, as an urgent measure for avoiding a wider and more catastrophic war. Once impeachment has begun, it will be easier for loyal and patriotic military officers to refuse illegal orders coming from the Cheney faction. We solemnly warn the people of the world that any terrorist attack with weapons of mass destruction taking place inside the United States or elsewhere in the immediate future must be considered the prima facie responsibility of the Cheney faction. We urge responsible political leaders everywhere to begin at once to inoculate the public opinion of their countries against such a threatened false flag terror operation.

People waking up.

It’s one thing to protest against what we feel is an injustice or other civic outrage which has been been promulgated from within our government, It is entirely something else (altogether) for protesters to rally with petitions and waging real litigation on the senate floor of our great nations’ capitol, to ratify impeachment procedings which would remove the Vice Pres. and President of The United States, FOR ACTS OF TREASON… These acts being cited include “False Flag Operations” which are perpetrated against America citizens! to provide chaos and mayhem from within our own borders?!!! This allegation (if it has one ounce of merit) is enough to shut down our Government and hold hearings into “Oversight” immediately! My belief is that there is more than an ounce of validity to this belief (and then some).

Outrage, Shock and Awe… My friend. Outrage, shock and AWE… Whether you concider yourself a Republican or a Democrat, you need to feel a sense of outrage, shock and awe.

If Conspiracy makes you feel like your going to be sick and “Things” are best left alone… You need to realize that this is exactly what “they” want you to feel… Malaise and mocus lethargy cannot be an option these days. There are mechanisms in play here and now which are fast moving and without your consent, have already held you as an American citizen hostage, through use of terrorist means, to subvert your Constitution and criple your governmnet. We have been manipulated to attack each other (doing “their” work for “them”). We need to rally around each other in support of this realization and if you feel there is any honor in honest government (Republicans) You need to let us investigate these claims. For which, if we “find” that these claims of subversion from within are real, than we’ll need all of us in union to remedy the damage done… (There is much damage done).

The stakes are too high for us to turn a blind eye my friends. Shock and Awe is the beginning of the symptoms we’ll feel after we realize it’s real… Honesty and integrity is what we’ll seek after that. Real Patriots are wiiling to feel this. Don’t throw stones at real patriots. We have your best interests and your kids best interests in mind. We love our country and something stinks to high heaven folks. It’s not just one or two things that we could overlook… Think about it… Everything is Screwed… and in such a short period of time, and our Pres. and Vice Pres. meet in hearings to be accountable for these things in closed, private hearings, together, with no press, no recording devices, and who hears the testimony is gag ordered not to release any information about it?. Refusals to respond to the Senate under Presidential Priviledge? Top down Resignations of the President’s cabinet, CIA Director, Secretary of State, Defense Director, Attorney General, Executive Counsel, Press Secretary. Four Star Generals fired?!!! I understand that there have always been distinct differences between us as Democrats and Republicans… This goes way beyond our original differences my friends. We need to unite under these circumstances to find a common ground… to re-unite us as a country again (A house divided will…FALL).

Who can you think of that has this charisma and air of honesty which can tear us away from these evil grips which we are in… I believe it’s people like RFK Jr. and Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, John Edwards, Joe Biden. Because there are party constraints on these men, all but RFK Jr. as Independant would need to back their party line, aside from that, their parties won’t be nominating any of them…. As well… the rooster gets back in the Hen House… In order to clean house, we need to elect in Independant President who can walk and chew gum as well as save us from ourselves… This person would need to immediately be able to work both sides of the aisles in the Senate and the Congress. He would have to assemble a real blue ribbon committee that could re-assemble our Constitution and begin the tasks of bringing about committees to access the damage we did to ourselves, to our economy and to our reputation. He would need to bring our troops home and he would need to halt immediately the North American Union of Canada, South America and the U.S.

We need to send a message to ourselves in real time and to our future selves… That no special interest “neo-Conservative” group or otherwise… will EVER ‘truck’ with this great nation ever again. We will prevail over this malady of an ilcke. Like RFK Jr. says we need to walk a fine line between Corporate incentive and Corporate takeover to manage our success in America. If we let this Bush / Cheney Neo-Con playbook stand we will have Fascism and a Police-State. Mr. Kennedy sees this clearly and has the householdness of name and his Fathers’ and Uncles’ reputation to give him wings of stealth to accomplish all I have suggested.

I sugest we get over ourselves, unite and Draft RFK Jr. to achieve nothing short of this and I pray that this is in Gods’ plan for us. We can go back to tearing each other apart as Liberals and Conservatives later on (If we have such liberty to do so).

Peace,

Jack

Keep talking, Democrats.

Please, just keep talking.

You’re doing us more good than you can possibly know.

I remember Watergate. People protested outside the White House. We have become complacent as a society to our own detriment. I feel that the only way the impeachment movement will stand a chance is if people organize and demonstrate (peacefully, but publicly). I wrote to my representative about this issue, and he replied to me by email with an air of curt dismissiveness.

We need to do something now before this mad administration does something horrible. I’m afraid!
